Anna Hart, one of the new owners of the Pink Flamingo Hotel, is in trouble. Everyone in Hatter's Cove is talking about her. They're convinced she knocked off her sweet and kindly old uncle for her inheritance and if that weren't bad enough, one person seems determined to make her pay for her supposed crime.
Sylvia Sutton, her business partner and the other co-owner of the hotel, will stop at nothing to prove Anna's guilt. Despite Anna's love and affection for her Uncle Max, Sylvia's convinced that Anna is a cold blooded murderer and has made it quite clear to anyone that will listen that she will put Anna behind bars if it's the last thing she does.
So, when Anna stumbles upon Sylvia's dead body in the middle of the night and accidentally puts her fingerprints all over the murder weapon, there seems to be only one logical thing to do . . . bury the body and pretend she didn't see anything.
At least, that's what her ex-boyfriend thinks. The same ex she's loved since grade school. The same ex who left without saying good bye nine years ago. The same ex who suddenly reappeared that day. And the same ex who seems awfully anxious to get rid of the body.

Loved this cozy mystery read. Had me second guessing myself on who did it. Not a dull moment from beginning to end. Would have loved a bit more details on some scenes, but overall the story flowed gracefully. Definitely enjoyed Anna and Jesse's roles in trying to prove their innocence. Excited for more, but wished Kat had made an appearance or Beatrixe getting some prank done on her. Enjoyed this read. Elisabeth is becoming a go to for me on on sweet cozy mysteries.Product details

Very interesting and at times I was confused. But I wasn't continually reading so lost train of thought. Try it!
Discrepancies take me out of the scene. Pouring down rain hen Anna sees Sylvia running outside so Anna gets dressed, goes outside and amazingly, no rain! The time lines are terrible also. In the time it took Anna to get outside, Sylvia is murdered and buried in the sand? Not possible. What is Jesse doing out in the pouring rain that doesn't exist? Incomplete scenes. Random incomplete conversations. Random characters.

Great mystery! This book kept your interest. I really enjoyed this book. It was as enjoyable as the Grace Holliday series.
As cozies go, this one was pretty good! Anna and Sylvia own equally, the Pink Flamingo Hotel. They don't get along very well. Sylvia is upset that Anna owns half of the hotel. A mixture of murder, jewel theft and some downright mean characters.
Not a bad read but the first of the Hatter's Cover series was better. This one seemed a bit rushed and the characters were a bit too over the top. Mystery was fair. Hopefully this is just the setup for further mysteries at the Pink Flamingo as I think the setting has promise.
A very pleasant read but I guess if people really communicated we wouldn't have mystery stories. A bit too much miscommunication among the principal characters which leads to no one knowing the answers until the end. The cast of characters was attractive and easy to like, and the tale was interesting. The next book should be welcomed.
Anna’s uncle has died and left her half of his hotel with a mascot a metal flamingo named Felix that the teens like to move down to the water. Sylvia owns the other half of the hotel and thinks Anna killed her uncle and now Sylvia is dead along with a pink diamond necklace. A very good convoluted story of who is the murdered and who is the thief, keeps you guessing until the end.
